Installation now takes 22 weeks, not 8. Four more engineers are on site.
    Why Tax may care
The tax assessment approved at bid stage assumed a short stay on site.

Two years on

What changed for Tax

The same people and the same rules. Far less searching.

  1. A project changes

    Late 2026
Someone had to notice, see that Tax might care, find us and tell us. Sometimes three months later.
    December 2028
The change reaches Tax with the evidence attached. A person decides if it matters.
  2. Monday morning

    Late 2026
A long list, then a scavenger hunt for context.
    December 2028
A short list of what deserves attention. The context is already there.
  3. When Tax joins a deal

    Late 2026
    After the price is fixed.
    December 2028
While choices are still choices. With three questions, not a thick report.
  4. Where the time goes

    Late 2026
Which contract? Which version? Who approved it? Where is the certificate?
    December 2028
    Judgment.

AI is doing quite a lot of the work I had to do before I could do my job.

    The problem
Month-end explanations took days of chasing. Fluent text could hide missing support.
    How we tested it

Mijn koffer was spoorloos.

Bram:Stond je bij de verkeerde band?

Noor:Erger. Ik had alleen handbagage. Die stond naast me.

Eva:Een belangrijke maatschappelijke taak.

02Het project veranderde.

Eva:En zo’n project verandert onderweg.

Eva:Ja.

Drie collega’s stuurden me dezelfde analyse. Alle drie definitief. Alle drie een andere uitkomst.

Noor:Welke was goed?

Eva:Een terechte vraag.

Eva:Die heet definitief.

Bram:Welke definitief?

Eva:Daarom beginnen we klein.

Noor:AI bij Vanderlande Tax. Minder speurwerk. Eerder aan tafel.

Back to today

Everything above is fiction.

Nobody knows yet what Vanderlande Tax needs by 2028. This page is a guess, made to start a conversation. The real work starts with your answers.

Five real questions

Before we meet

Five questions

No form to fill in. Think about them, and bring one example.

  1. A year from now, what should be really different? What do we do less of? What does Finance notice?
    Why this question
It sets the goal in work, not in AI. Not how many people used a tool, but what got easier.
    Bring one example
One task you would happily never do again.
  2. Where does Tax find out too late?
    Why this question
Late news is where cost and risk hide. It also shows which signals would help most.
    Bring one example
A changed project, a signed contract or a payment with an unexpected deduction.
  3. Where is the detective work?Gathering, comparing, asking for the same attachment again.
    Why this question
Searching and chasing happen before the real work starts. That is where AI can help first.
    Bring one example
The attachment you asked for three times.
  4. Which problem should Tax, Finance and IT solve together? And who can make time for it?
    Why this question
The best cases cross team lines. Inviting three teams to a meeting is not the same as working together.
    Bring one example
One handover between teams that often goes wrong.
  5. If we build only one thing in the first three months, what should it be?
    Why this question
One real case, with real examples and someone willing to test it, beats ten good ideas.
    Bring one example
A case you know well, with the documents that go with it.
